Meet Social Worker Josh Maduell

Josh Maduell is excited to join the Senior Center team as our new social worker!

For as long as he can remember, Josh has had a passion for working with seniors. Being an “old soul” himself, he finds it comes naturally to connect and engage with this population. And if any member is looking for a corny joke or someone to sing showtunes with at random parts of the day, Josh’s theatre background might just come in handy.

His most recent role was with Jewish Family Service where he primarily helped seniors living with disabilities and mental illness maintain their independence. During his time there, Josh recognized his passion for helping people and decided to pursue a master’s in social work, which he completed in 2023.

One thing that brought Josh to the Senior Center is its vibrancy. With the constant programs every day of the week, there are always different kinds of activities for members to do and other members for them to meet and engage with. Josh observed how warm and welcoming the Senior Center was, especially from all the coworkers and members he met in just his first week.

If you need anything, you’ll find Josh in the Social Work office every weekday. Josh will also be facilitating the weekly Aging Well Group and the monthly Low Vision Support Group. For questions about these groups or for help with any kind of resource you need, don’t be shy to stop by in person or to call him at 206-932-4044 x2.

Josh feels so grateful to be part of this community and is looking forward to making even more connections along the way!
