Westside Friends Outreach Program

Our Outreach program Westside Friends  provides intensive in-home case management for elders, including volunteers for additional in-home support in special situations. Volunteers needed once SCWS reopens.

Our Social workers are facilitators for several of our ongoing support groups that will resume when SCWS reopens:

SUPPORT GROUPS – Ongoing Weekly Group (suspended due to closure)

AGING WELL
Are you feeling challenged by changes in your health, relationships, housing mobility or income?  Looking for ways to make connections, communicate, increase self-esteem, manage anxiety, cultivate acceptance?  Share stories, learn coping strategies, give and receive support.   Occasional community speakers on a variety of relevant topics.   All sharing is confidential.

SUPPORT GROUPS – Ongoing Monthly Groups (suspended due to closure)

LOW VISION
Open to all people dealing with vision problems.  During our group, we share tips on managing our lives with vision loss, share resources, and support one another.  We often have outside speakers presenting to us and sharing various vision enhancing equipment.  Facilitated by Holly McNeill, MSW LICSW

DIABETIC SUPPORT
Each month we present a topic of interest to members such as nutrition for diabetics, foot care, vision, care, etc.  All people with diabetes, their families and friends are welcome.   Facilitated by Toni Ameslav, MSW.  For more information Toni can be reached at 206.932.4044 x 9

CAREGIVERS SUPPORT
Facilitated by Sound Generations Caregiver Support Program.  Come share your challenges, frustrations, successes with other caregivers who “get it.”  The experience exchange among caregivers will provide you with free peer support on a monthly basis and might just give you an energy boost to keep you at your best.  For more information you may contact Holly at 206.932.4044 x 2 or Sound Generations 206.448.5766
